START THE SEASON STRONG IN AN OPTIMAL AND EFFICIENT BIKE FIT
You might be asking yourself, 'But why would I need a bike fit?' A question I also asked myself, over 6 years ago when I had my first bike fitting session. After that first bike fit, I could instantly feel the difference, and it has since been a process I have followed with each bike I own.
First things first, it's about the comfort of your ride. If you are not comfortable on your bike, the less likely you are going to want to ride or train on it, no matter what the weather is like. Having a completely tailored bike fit, appropriate to your own body's geometry, is key to not only a comfortable ride, but an efficient one at that.
Which then leads on to the second point. Efficiency. We are all a little bit different and that's what makes us so unique. By finding out a little bit more about yourself, your goals and physical limits, we can create an optimal riding position, just for you. Bikes come in set sizes (i.e. S, M, L /52,54,56cm etc) and that doesn't always mean, you are going to get the best fit for you, *so some additional equipment may be needed, to fine tune and truly tailor your fit. When you are riding more efficiently, you'll be able to ride faster and stronger with the same amount of effort and energy output. Who wouldn’t want a faster and more energy efficient ride?
Avoiding injuries is a fundamental reason for getting a professional bike fit. Whether you have a pre existing injury or would like to prevent unnecessary and avoidable injury, then a bike fit is for you. With the pre fit assessment and full body analysis, we can determine the best fit to meet your needs.
Once we have covered all of the essentials in the fitting process, then we can look at other areas that will affect you reaching your optimum performance level, such as the aerodynamics of your fit.
Bike fitting is a very personal experience, so it's good to know who you will be putting your trust into.
